Luminous Lake

$1,100.00

A 24”x24” acrylic and oil on canvas.
Water holds what the sky lets go. Here, in that hour between dusk and dawn, light does not fall but rises — as if remembered rather than seen. The lily pads settle last, small and still, learning to float on what moves beneath them. This is not a painting of a particular place. It’s based on a memory, or emotion. It represents a return — to stillness, luminance and calmness.

Part of the Dreamy Series, in memory of my mom who recently passed away — whose name Svetlana - means light.

In person it looks very calm and dreamy. With several spots of “ambiguity or haze”. Leaving the viewer wondering about the environment that it represents. While the landscape is really my feelings that I can’t express with words.
